Program Manager
Program Manager – Supportive Housing
Make stability possible. Lead with purpose.
At the YWCA of Binghamton and Broome County, we believe safe housing is the foundation for everything else—healing, growth, and independence. We’re looking for a few Program Managers who are ready to lead with both heart and structure: someone who can guide a team, support individuals in crisis, and ensure our programs run with excellence and integrity.
This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You’ll be in it—supporting participants, coaching staff, and shaping the quality of services that help people rebuild their lives.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead the day-to-day operations of supportive housing programs serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and complex life challenges.
Lead People & Programs
- Supervise and develop a team of Case Managers and other staff as appropriate for the specific program you will be managing
- Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability to ensure strong performance
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and program coverage
- Partner with leadership to strengthen program outcomes and quality
Support Participants Directly
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized service plans
- Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and resource navigation
- Work directly with a small caseload (10–15 households)
Ensure Quality & Compliance
- Oversee documentation and reporting to meet agency and funder standards
- Monitor service delivery for consistency, quality, and impact
- Contribute to program evaluation, performance tracking, and continuous improvement
Build Community & Collaboration
- Facilitate workshops, life-skills groups, and engagement activities
- Represent the agency in community partnerships and coalitions
- Strengthen relationships with referral sources and service providers
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who can balance compassion with structure—someone who can lead people while holding high standards.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed care, Housing First, and harm reduction
- Prior experience supervising or leading staff (strongly preferred)
- Ability to manage complexity, respond to crises, and make sound decisions
- Strong communication skills and relationship-building ability
- Comfort with documentation systems and data tracking
- Valid NYS driver’s license
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you will:
- Deliver consistent, high-quality supportive services
- Build trusting relationships with participants and staff
- Lead a team that is engaged, accountable, and supported
- Ensure accurate, compliant documentation and reporting
- Strengthen the overall impact and stability of our housing programs
Salary, Benefits & Growth
Salary: 60K
Benefits:
We invest in our people so they can show up fully—for themselves, their teams, and the community.
- Medical and dental insurance (employer pays a portion)
- Generous PTO policy, including an Extended Illness program for added security
- Pension program eligibility after 2 years of employment (no employee contribution required)
- Professional development and mentoring programs to support your growth and career path
What the Work Feels Like
This role is dynamic and deeply meaningful. You’ll:
- Work directly with individuals navigating housing instability and crisis
- Support and guide staff through complex situations
- Move between program sites and collaborate across teams
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support
It’s challenging work—but it’s also the kind that changes lives, including your own.
